Residential Moving Tips

Moving can be a stressful but exciting time in your life. To move from one residence to another has its challenges. Luckily, Moving Pros has some tips to ensure your next residential move is a lot less stressful and way more exciting!

Schedule Your Moving Date Ahead of Time

Moving is usually not a spur of the moment decision. You take time in finding the perfect place and then deciding on the right time to move. Scheduling your moving date with the movers is important. This way you will be sure to have a truck and movers on the day you choose. Finding a quality mover at very short notice is hard.

Turn on the Electricity and Water at the New Home

It would be best if you had the electricity and water turned on in your new home before moving day. This can make your life a lot easier. You will have movers and family around to help you move; it will be nice to have heat, air, and running water for the big day. This is especially helpful as you begin unpacking your belongings.

Pack a Moving Day Bag

A moving day bag is one of the most important bags you will ever pack. This bag will contain important documents, medication, hygiene products, a change of clothing, and any other items you may think are important. The big day can be tiring, and it isn’t fun to dig through tons of boxes to find your medicine, a change of clothing, or products to take a shower. Pack enough for your entire family so that you can have a relaxing first night in your new home.

Hire a Babysitter for the Day

This may not seem like the best idea, but it can be a lifesaver. If you have young children or pets, it may be a great idea to hire a babysitter to watch them for the day. Movers will be in and out of your old and new home. You will have many things happening all at once. It is easier not to be watching your children or pets that day.
